We are pleased to announce that Server Backup Manager 5.8 will be released on Tuesday, August 26th! Please make a note of this date, especially if you have configured your servers to automatically update via apt or yum.
The new release provides some key new enhancements:
- Amazon Glacier support for offsite storage of Disk Safe replicas.
- UEFI/GPT support. Backup and BMR UEFI/GPT partitions.
- XFS bare metal recovery support.
- Server Backup Manager API enhancements
- Experimental feature BMR API the method doBareMetalRestore is now available to perform an automated full system restore
- getServerLicenseInformation() now also returns the Server Backup Manager version.
- *Get Policy by disk safe. Two new methods were added:
- getPolicyByDiskSafe Returns the policy associated with the specified Disk Safe.
- getPolicyByDiskSafeId Returns the policy associated with the specified Disk Safe ID.
- Get User by user name. Two new method were added:
- getUserByUsername Returns the user associated with the specified username.
- getUserByUsernameAndOwner Returns the user associated with the specified username and owner type.
