- Mac support in Fedora 17 – Matthew Garrett has written a blog post about his efforts to improve support for Mac hardware in the upcoming Fedora 17 release. He says that “Fedora 17 is the first Linux distribution to ship install media that will EFI boot a Mac when either written to optical media or a USB stick.” He also asks users with Mac hardware to test the live images and report bugs.
- Linux USB library fork – Hans de Groede has announced a fork of libusb that is called libusbx and will most likely be used in the next version of Fedora. Although the actual fork of the project happened some time ago, it has now been publicly announced because of its planned inclusion in Fedora.
- Intel releases x86 system image for Android 4.0 – Intel has released a x86 system image based on Ice Cream Sandwich for the Android emulator. The image can be downloaded from within the Android SDK Manager and is listed under the version 4.0.3 tree.
