IMPORTANT NOTICE: THE PROTECTION OF YOUR DATA

Cath KlebNews

In an ongoing effort to ensure stricter security measures and for the protection of your data, DcData will be discontinuing support for all unencrypted email protocols on the morning of Wednesday 17th of May 2023.

Only encrypted versions of POP3, IMAP, SMTP, and HTTP will be available for utilisation by email client programs on the ports reflected below, with the discontinued ports reflected between brackets respectively:
POP3s: 995 (no longer 110)
IMAPs: 993 (no longer 143)
SMTP: 587 with TLS encryption or port 465
HTTPs: 443 (no longer 80)

If your current DcData Zimbra subscription level is “Enterprise” (highly recommended) and you use the Zimbra Connector for Outlook then please ensure that “Use Secure Connection” has been selected under the “Server Name” in the Zimbra Connector settings. No changes are required if you use your web-browser to access your email via the Zimbra WebClient/webmail due to it already using HTTPs.

We highly recommend that you review, adjust, and test all email client settings well in advance of the cut-off date of 9 am on the 17th of May to avoid any unexpected disruptions on the day.
We’d also like to use this opportunity to remind you that enabling MFA/2FA on your Zimbra account vastly increases security on your account by preventing unauthorised access. Please enable the feature under the following Preferences option in the Zimbra Web client/webmail: Accounts > Select “Primary” Account > Set up two-factor authentication

Please view the following URLs for more information regarding this feature:

Thank you in advance for your ongoing support and cooperation – please feel free to contact our technical support team if you have any queries or if there is anything we may do to assist.
