Chinese government chooses Ubuntu as its standard OS

CPC and Canonical are reportedly working together to develop an Ubuntu-flavoured base from which to compile their own official OS.

This could be huge. Even if Ubuntu ends up being used in nothing more than government and administration machines, it’s still a HUGE install base… probably could double the total number of installed Linux systems world-wide. Nonetheless, it seems a strange move on China’s part, as they already have Red Flag Linux.
